Module 6: Immersive Technology
Immersive technology (virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed technology) can be used in the classroom to allow students to demonstrate their learning. The idea behind this is to revolutionize the present and future. Immersive technology acts to create or extend reality by placing users in different modes or domains while using the digital equipment. These types of technology can be used in the classroom setting to increase student engagement and participation levels, as well as increase knowledge retention levels for students of all ages. For instance, through ClassVR students can use real headsets with user-friendly interfaces and gesture controls. Virtual reality (VR) can also be used to enhance gamification within the classroom space. Through this type of technology, students can escape the real-world and tap into their more imaginative side.
